Location

The Tonga archipelago, also known as the Friendly Islands, lies scattered east of Fiji in the South Pacific .

The Vava’u Island group in the Kingdom of Tonga is a spectacular tropical island paradise

Consisting of 171 islands, only 45 of which are inhabited, Tonga has a total area of 748 sq km.

How To Get There

You will need to book your own flight to Tonatapu in the Kingdom of Tonga. Then fly with Chatham airlines to the Nieafu aiport in the Vava'u island group. It is  a 40 minute flight north of Tongatapu.

Visa

Most visitors to Tonga are granted a 31-day visa on arrival and extension can be made up to 6 months (for a fee) in person at the Immigration Office.
